Title: Malignant Pleural Effusion of 26 Cases Treated with Video-Assisted Thoracoscopy
Abstract: Objective:To summarize the clinical experience of malignant pleural effusion treated with video-assisted thoracoscopy(VATS).Methods:26 patients with malignant plerual effusion were treated with VATS in our hospital.Pleural effusion was drained out completely by thoracoscopy under general anesthesia,pleurodesis was carried out by spraying sterilize talc powder intracavitary.Results:The life quality of all patients was improved highly after VATS,the efficacy of treatment is 100%.Only one patient died of the brain metastasis tumor after 2 months of operation,the other 25 cases survived over 6 months.Conclusions:Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery is a minal invasive and effective way for malignant pleural effusion.
