Abstract: Wang Yangming's poetry can be divided three periods in coincidence with his three changes of academic interests.In the early period,his potry embodies exuberant and lofty spirits,manifesting his persistent pursuit of Neo-Confucianism.In the middle period,his poetry is characteristic of great grave realm as he establishes the philosophy of Mind.In the later period of his poetry,his poetry free from earthly cares reveals sophistication and aboveboard quality.In a word,his poetry reflects a Neo-Confucian's mental progress.His lyrics,narrative poems,pastoral poems and poems embodying his philosophy are artistic expressions of his New-Confucianism,so his poetry is both philosophic and artistic.
