Title: Protective effect of G-CSF and KGF on hematopoietic and immune system mice irradiated with 5.0 Gy γ-ray
Abstract: Objective To study the protection of hematopoietic and immune system on acute radiation sickness in mice with combined KGF+G-CSF.Methods C57BL/6 mice of 6-8 weeks were selected to receive whole body irradiation of γ-ray,through body weights, organ indexes, white blood cells, red blood cells, blood platelets and concentration of hemoglobin in peripheral blood, bone marrow nucleated cells, bone marrow DNA contents, colony forming units of spleen,to detect its effect on blood, hematopoietic and immune system in irradiated mice. Results Administered by different groups for irradiated mice in hematopoietic and immune system had a protective effect. The weight restoration of combined group was significantly better than other groups;Compared with simple IR group, difference of combined group with thymus index had statistically significant (P0.05),spleen index had significant difference (P0.01);Combined group with WBC (P0.05),RBC (P0.05),Hb (P0.01),PLT (P0.01) had statistically significant;Combined group with BMNC,bone marrow DNA and CFU-S had all significant difference (P0.01).Conclusions KGF in combination with G-CSF is of certain protective effect for radiation injury in C57BL/6 mice.
