Title: Catalytic Synthesis of Butyric Acid Esters with SO_4~(2-)/TiO_2-MoO_3
Abstract: The n-amyl butyrate is synthesized based on n -butyric acid and n-amyl alcohol using SO. 2- 4/TiO 2-MoO 3 as c atalyst. The optimum reaction condition is that the molar ratio of alcohol to ac id is 1.5∶1, the mass ratio of the catalyst used to the reactions is 2.0 %, and the reaction time is 1.5h. The synthesis of butyric acid esters was studied using ethyl alcohol, propyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, n-amyl alcohol, iso-amyl alcohol and n-butanoic acid as reactant separately u nder the optimum conditions mentioned above, the yield of ethyl butyrate is 14 .9%, propyl butyrate 45.4%, n-butyl butyrate 68.0%, n-amyl butyrate 97.9%, iso-amyl butyrate 91.1% respectively. It showed that SO. 2- 4/TiO 2-MoO 3 is an excellent catalyst for the synthesis of butyric acid este rs.
