Title: Clinical observations on treatment with integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine for chronic renal failure complicating cardiopathy
Abstract: Objective:To investigate the curative effects of integrated traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and western medicine(WM) on chronic renal failure (CRF) complicating cardiopathy.Methods:355 patients with CRF complicating cardiopathy were randomly divided into treated group ( n =299) which was treated with integrated TCM WM and control group ( n =56) which was treated with WM.The control group was treated with hemodialysis and symptomatic therapy using WM while in the treated group based on treatment with WM similar to control group (201 case with hemodialysis and 98 cases with colon dialysis) the TCM was added. Before and after therapy the cardiopathy and the changes in serum creatinine were observed. Results:In treated group the total effective rate was 93 98% but in control group it was 75 00%.In comparison between two groups the difference was significant ( P 0 05).After therapy in both groups the serum creatinine (SCr) was decreased but in treated group the decrease in SCr 〔(453 1±92 2)μmol/L after therapy〕 was much more significant than that in control group 〔(592 0±113 6)μmol/L after therapy, P 0 05〕.Conclusions:The treatment with integrated TCM WM for CRF complicating cardiopathy is superior to that with WM alone.
