Title: Role of mild hypothermia in ischemia and reperfusion injure in rabbit liver
Abstract: Objective To study the role of mild hypothermia in ischemia and reperfusion injury in rabbit liver. Methods Thirty rabbits were randomly divided into the normothermia, mild hypothermia and normal control group. Hepatic tissue oxygeon pressure(P ti O 2) was measured before, during, and after the ischemic period in the left lobe.Serum glutamic pyruvic transaminase enzyme (ALT) was also measured. The histopathologic changes inliver were observed. Results ALT and P ti O 2 values in the mild hypothermia group at liver ischemia reperfusion different periods remained significantly higher than those in the normothermia group (P0.05).Meanwhile,the histopathologic hepatic injury of liver induced by ischemia reperfusion in the mild hypothermia group was significantly improved as compared with that in the normothermia group. Conclusion The mild hypothermia can protect the liver from ischemia reperfusion injury.
