Title: ULTRASONICALLY GUIDED PERCUTANEOUS NEPHROLITHOTRIPSY WITH PNEUMATIC AND ULTRASONIC POWER FOR RENAL STONES
Abstract: Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of percutaneous nephrolithotripsy(PCNL) under ultrasonic guidance. Methods This study included 118 cases of renal stone undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotripsy. The duration of the procedure, complications and stone-clearance rate were analyzed. Results A percutaneous renal access was successfully established in all patients.A primary lithotripsy was performed in 116 cases and secondary in two.The duration(mean) was 69-121(84±13) minutes.Blood loss(mean) was 10-170 mL(80 mL).No complications such as severe infection, urinary fistula or injury of abdominal organs were recorded. The clearance rate of stone was 86.4%(102/118). Conclusion The management of renal stone using PCNL appears to be efficacious and safe under ultrasonic guidance.
