Title: A comparison of minimally invasive treatment for complicated upper ureteral calculi
Abstract: Objective:To compare the efficacy of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL),ureteroscopic lithotripsy(URL),minimally invasive percutaneous nephrolithotomy(mPCNL),and retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterotomy(RLU) for the treatment for complicated upper ureteral calculi. And to investigate the best treatment of complicated upper ureteral calculi. Methods:A retrospective analysis was reviewed in 232 cases of complicated upper ureteral calculi. Results:The success rate of ESWL on one session was 43%,URL was 71.8%,MPCNL was 85.7%,RLU was 96.7%.The stone-free rate of ESWL three months after operation was 81%,URL was 85.9%,MPCNL was 96.4%,RLU was 100%.The Efficiency quotient of ESWL was 0.50,URL was 0.65,MPCNL was 0.84,RLU was 0.97.Conclusions:In selected patients with complicated upper ureteral stones,we should choose a therapy according to their clinic condition and actual demand.
