Title: Clinical Study of Nicardipine in 40 Patients with Hypertensive Emergency
Abstract: Objective: To observe the clinic therapeutic effects and the side response of nicardipine in the treatment of patients with hypertensive emergency.Method: Forty patients with hypertensive emergencies were treated with intravenous nicardipine for infusion duration of twenty four hours. The nicardipine dose was 0.5~4μg/kg.min. Result: The blood pressure started to decrease when intravenous nicardipine was used for 10 minutes, and when 30 minutes the blood pressure was controlled satisfactorily. Conclusion: Nicardipine appears to be a safe and effective drug for intravenous use in the treatment of hypertensive emergencies. Intravenous nicardipine can rapidly and effectively lower blood pressure and its side effects are modest.
