Title: First aid and early treatment of cervical spinal cord injury
Abstract: Objective To summarize the experiences of first aid and early treatment of cervical spinal cord injury and explore the principles and characteristics of its processing.Method First-aid treatments of 216 patients with cervical spinal cord injury were analyzed,and the complications and prognosis were evaluated.Results Field died in this group was 18 cases(8.3%),death caused by complications of cervical spinal cord injury was 10 cases,shock,cerebral hemorrhage and other injuries caused death was eight cases,and no death in transit.Contrast of site first aid and post-admission assessment:no case of secondary injury occured;198 cases were followed up,and 12 patients died of late complications of spinal cord injury;after inhospital treatment,Frankel grading of B~D class in 178 cases,neurological functions got 1~2 grade′s improvement,among 20 A-level patients,6 cases got 1~2 grade nerve function improvement and 14 patients without significant improvement.Conclusion The correct pre-hospital first aid and early treatment can reduce secondary spinal cord injury,and play an important role in improving the prognosis of patients.
