Title: Exploration on the clinical value of Cystatin C in the early renal dysfunction caused by urolithiasis
Abstract: Objective To explore diagnostic value of cystatin C in the early renal insufficiency urolithiasis caused by urolithiasis. Methods 50 patients with renal insufficiency caused by urolithiasis from August 2009 to August 2012 in People's Hospital of Futian District in Guangdong Province were selected as the observation group, while 50 healthy volunteers were selected as the control group in the same term, the cystatin C,creatinine, serum urea were compared between the two groups. Results The Cys C of the control group [(0.85 ± 0.13) mg/L] was significantly lower than the observation group [(1.32 ± 0.34) mg/L],the difference was statistically significant(P 0.05);there was a positive correlation between the Cys C levels and other two factors of creatinine and serum urea(r = 0.506,0.552,all P 0.05).The area under the ROC curve of the Cys C(0.934) was more than the creatinine and serum urea area under the ROC curve(0.711,0.523).Conclusion Serum cystatin C may well reflect the early renal damage caused by urolithiasis. It may provide reliable basis for early diagnosis and gain more time for early treatment.
