Title: Detection and Clinical Significance of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor in Non-small Cell Lung Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To detect the level of serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),and to explore its clinical significance. Methods The content of VEGF was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) in 80 patients with NSCLC and 30 healthy controls. Results The average content of VEGF in patients with NSCLC was 887.3±130.7 pg/mL and significantly higer than that of control group(250.2±47.5 pg/mL)(P0.01).The level of VEGF had no significant correlation with gender, age, histological type, degree of differentiation, size of tumor, but it was significantly correlated with clinical stage and lymphatic metastasis(P0.01).Conclusion VEGF could be a reliable index for early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation of NSCLC.
