Title: Stability of pigment extracted from black rice and its dyeing properties on wool fabric
Abstract: A natural pigment is extracted from black rice and the influences of metal ions,pH value and temperature on stability of the pigment are discussed by UV-visible spectra analysis. The extracts are applied to wool dyeing, and the dyeing process is optimized by studying the influences of dyeing pH value, dyeing temperature, dyeing time and metal ions on K / S value of the dyed wool fabrics. The results show that black rice pigment is sensitive to metal ions and the pH value change,it is relatively stability to the change of temperature( ≤90 ℃). The color of dyed wool fabrics varies with metal ions and the crock fastness and soaping fastness( staining wool) of the dyed fabrics are better, but the fading fastness are poor except Cu2 +and Fe2 +mordant samples.
