Title: Relationship between the infection of chlamydia trachomatis and/or ureaplasma urealyticum and tubal infertility
Abstract: Objective To study the relationship between the infection of chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and/or ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) and tubal infertility. Methods CT was detected by immunofluorescence and UU detected by liquid incubation in the secretions of uterine cervix of women who suffered from primary infertility (69 cases) and secondary infertility (83 cases). The appearance of fallopian tubes was examined by celoscope and tubography in 1 to 6 months after pathogen detection. Results The infection rate of CT, UU, CT combined with UU was 25.0%,15.6% and 12.5% respectively in women with obstruction of fallopian tubes, whereas in those with unblocked fallopian tubes the corresponding infection rate was 11.3% (P0.05), 5.7% (P0.05) and 3.4% (P0.05) respectively. Conclusion The infection of CT and/or UU might play an important role in the tubal infertility.
