Abstract: As a dominant cultural factor,politics play a crucial role in Chinese civilization. The policy, that adopted by the Emperor Wu to remove all the other schools and exclusively advocate the Confucian principles, could be seen as an impact of politics having on culture. While the fact that, Taoism became a mainstream with the anarchy during the WeiJin and Southern and Northern Dynasty, is just the other way round. The passage compares the centralization and decentralization of state power during this two periods and analyse how Confucian culture and Taoist culture influence the literary theory.
