Title: Clinical studies on treatment of chronic severe viral hepatitis with SNMC and changes of serum cytokines
Abstract: Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of stronger neo-minophagen C (SNMC) on chronic severe viral hepatitis. Methods Eighty-six patients with chronic severe hepatits B were enrolled randomizely into treatment group (43 cases) and control group (43 cases). The treatment group received comprehensive therapy and SNMC 80-100 mg daily, while the control group only received comprehensive treatment. The plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α),interleukin-6 (IL-6),interleukin-8 (IL-8) and other clinical features were observed before and after treatment. Results The clinical syndromes and signs were improved in two groups after treatment. The improvement rate of treatment group was higher than that of control group (81% vs 65%,P0.05). After 4 weeks treatment, the serum levels of TBil,IL-6 and IL-8 decreased and PTA increased significantly in treatment group than that in control group (P0.05). No difference was found for serum TNF-α,K+and Na+ in two groups. The ascites did not increase in treatment group. Conclusions SNMC can effectively improve the patient's condition of patients with chronic severe viral hepatitis in 4 weeks and decreased the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-6 and IL-8.
