Title: The report of treatment of 96 cases with fungal sinusities by the nasal endoscopic surgery
Abstract: Objective To investigate the etiology of fungal sinusitis and the clinical effect of the endoscopic sinus surgery for non-aggressive fungal sinusitis.Methods To adopt the endoscopic sinus surgery to treat 96 cases of non-aggressive fungal sinusitis and to analyse their clinical symptom,nasal endoscopic examinations,nasal sinus CTs,and the effect of endoscopic sinus surgery.Results All of the 96 patients have the abnormal anatomies and the characteristics of pathological changes in their nasal cavities by the nasal endoscopies and nasal sinus CTs.Their post-operation pathological examinations all found the fungal hypha.Having been followed up 6 months to 2 years,85 cases(88.54%)are cured,9 cases(9.38%)are improved,2 cases(2.08%)are ineffective.Conclusion Non-aggressive fungal sinusitis is related with the abnormal anatomy and the pathological changes of nasal cavity.Nasal endoscopy and nasal sinus CT are of great importance to diagnose the fungal sinusitis.The nasal endoscopic surgery is the important method to treat this disease.
