Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of inverted traction on the length of normal lumbar spine from different angles.Methods Twenty healthy students were towed by self-gravity.The length of lumbar spine,pu...Objective To observe the effect of inverted traction on the length of normal lumbar spine from different angles.Methods Twenty healthy students were towed by self-gravity.The length of lumbar spine,pulse and blood pressure were measured from different angles(-15°,-30°and-45°).Results The length of lumbar spine increased in varying degrees after inverted traction with the three angles.No statistical differences were found between inverted traction with the angle of-15° and before traction(P0.05).The length of lumbar spine was significant difference(P0.05) between inverted traction with the angle of-30°,with the angle of-45° and before traction.There was no significant difference of length increased between two angles(P0.05).Conclusion Inverted traction with the angle of-30° and-45° increase the length of lumbar spine and there is no statistical significance between inverted traction with the two angles.But this way should be careful for the patients who suffer from hypertension,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases,because it can slightly increase diastolic pressure.Read More
