Title: The electromagnetic wave paths and applications of inhomogeneous plasma spheres
Abstract: This paper presents the refraction of electromagnetic wave in inhomogeneous plasma spheres. The electromagnetic wave paths in plasma spheres are given by calculus of variations. The relationship between the electron density in plasma spheres and the reversal of electromagnetic wave and the reduction of RCS of a target is discussed. The results illustrate that the change of electron density in plasma may have considerable influence on the reduction of the RCS. The faster the electron density in plasma changes along the radius of plasma sphere, the better stealth effect takes.
