Title: A Tentative Exploration of the Teaching of Aesthetics from a Constructivist Perspective
Abstract: The rapid development of the discipline of aesthetics necessitates a constant renewal of the concepts of the knowledge and the teaching of aesthetics. In the constructivist view,the knowledge of aesthetics is a subjective knowledge and teaching aesthetics means the teacher helping his students construct their knowledge of aesthetics. For the students,a constructivist teaching approach to aesthetics is favorable for establishing a full and open structure of the knowledge of aesthetics,creating a teaching environment where initiatives and interaction flourish and fostering in them the ability to form aesthetic opinions. For the teacher,a constructivist teaching approach to aesthetics can help renew teaching concepts,bring forth new teaching strategies and make innovations in the evaluative system of teaching.
