Title: On Liu Xie's Thought about the Features Of Life of Literary Language
Abstract: Liu Xie thought natural forms of living things including human beings are the source of forms of beauty. His mastery of the features of life of literary language can be understood in two ways. He advocated the integrity of literary works shared by living things; he upheld the expressive power and beauty of fluidity of literary language, which he thought an expression of motion, rhythm and pursuit of symmetry and balance in variety and change in the form of literary language. Different from the static beauty of steadiness and balance embodied by neutralization of literary language in the period of pre Qin Dynasty, Fenggu stresses a dynamic beauty of fluidity.
