Title: Purified and Restrained Sentiment --On the Emotion of Ontology in Liu Xie's Poetry
Abstract: The ontology of Liu Xie's poetry shown in Carving a Dragon at the Core of Literature is the most complete poetry ontology of ancient and contemporary Chinese essays, with its focus on sentimental theory. Liu Xie's control and the golden mean are both displayed in the release of weak and strong emotions as well as naturalized and socialized sentiments. He overcorrected the theory poetic sentiment, with inclination towards tradition and conservative but his theory about earnest frustrating feeling reveals that poetry was not uninhibited emotion. Besides, his theory of touched to chant by sights shows us sentiment experience and its forming process and enables us to realize the natural and social attributes of poetry, which serve as an important means to ensure the moral value.
