Title: Roles of potassium and potassium channel in immunity
Abstract: The potassium ion is one of most important cation in homeostasis of organism. The potassium channel is the main way by which potassium ions transport from inside of cells to outside of cells.Potassium ion and potassium channel can not only maintain the physiological function, but also regulate the immune. They are also involved in cell apoptosis and activation of varieties of immune cells.Potassium channel expression is abnormal in T cell-mediated autoimmune disease and selective blocking of potassium channel could prevent the disease aggravation. Thus voltage-gated potassium channel has been the new target for the treatment of autoimmune disease.
