Title: Cerebral infarction vs cerebral hemorrhage:comparison of their risk factors
Abstract: Objective To compare the difference of risk factors in cerebral infarction with cerebral hemorrhage. Methods Four hundred and eighty-one patients with brain infarction and 214 patients with cerebral hemorrhage diagnosed by computer tomography(CT)or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)were observed. The alterations of total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),apo-lipoproteinA1(ApoA1),apo-lipoprotein B(ApoB),blood glucose, and blood uric acid were measured in both groups. Results The mean levels of blood sugar and HDL-C in cerebral hemorrhage group were significantly higher than those in cerebral infarction group(P0.01);however the levels of blood uric acid and ApoB were significantly lower(P0.01)in cerebral hemorrhage group. There were no significantly differences in the levels of TC,TG,LDL-C and ApoA1(P0.05)between both groups. The systolic pressure and average blood pressure were much higher in hemorrhage group than those in infarction group. Conclusion The study suggests that blood pressure, blood glucose, blood uric acid and some blood lipids are risk factors for stroke, and comprehensive measures should be taken to prevent stroke.
