Title: Applcation value of coronal curved multiplanar reformation technique in sacral vertebra by multislice CT
Abstract: Objective:To explore the application value of the coronal curved multiplanar reformation(CMPR) using multi-slice CT(MSCT) in sacral vertebra. Methods:Forty sacral vertebras were performed in volume scan by 16 multi-slice CT and in thin slice image reconstructions. They were processed using conventional coronal MPR(con-MPR),oblique coronal MPR(OMPR) and coronal CMPR by two CT doctors, respectively. At last, all post-processed images were observed and analyzed by two experienced radiologists. Results:The coronal images of 40 sacral vertebras were obtained by using con-MPR,OMPR and CMPR technique. On displaying the images of sacral vertebras,CMPR was better than OMPR and con-MPR(Doctor A:UOMPR:con-MPR =-7.221,P=0.000,UCMPR:con-MPR =-7.629,P=0.000;Doctor B:UOMPR:con-MPR =-5.510,P=0.000,UCMPR:con-MPR =-6.686,P=0.000),significant difference were found between OMPR and con-MPR(Doctor A:UOMPR:CMPR =-0.872,P=0.383,Doctor B:UOMPR:CMPR =-1.291,P=0.197).For the images that were obtained by doctor A and B using CMPR technique, two results had excellent correspondence and the Kappa value was 0.765.Conclusion:The coronal images of sacral vertebra can be obtained by CMPR,which stereotypely displays sacral vertebra, and CMPR technique is superior to the imagings by OMPR or con-MPR technique when used to evaluate the sacral vertebra diseases.
