Title: Value of Multi-slice Spiral CTA for Diagnosis of Moyamoya Disease
Abstract: Objective To explore the application of 64 slices spiral CTA in diagnostic practice for Moyamoya disease(MMD).Methods CT scan and CTA reconstruction were performed for total 19 cases of MMD,volume rending(VR),maximum density projection(MIP)and multiplanar reconstruction(MPR) were conducted for above data at work station. Results Fourteen cases of cerebral hemorrhage,4 cerebral infarction and 1 cerebral displasia were detected.Stenotic or occlusive internal carotid artery(ICA),abnormal vascular net of anastomosis at skullbase were fully revealed by CTA,in which bilateral ICA occlusion were confirmed in 12 cases, unilateral ICA occlusion combined with posterior cerebral artery stenosis in 1,unilateral middle cerebral artery occlusion in 6,collateral branches were developed in relative territory. Conclusion Characteristic features of vascularity of MMD might be showed clearly by CTA.3D of stenotic artery, collateral vessel can be revealed well by VD,small size artery be shown by MIP and MPR.CTA should be first choice of screening for suspect cases of MMD.
