Title: To assess the treatment outcome on lower blood pressure in the old by using candesartan cilexetil and amlodipine besylate
Abstract: Objective:To assess the clinical effects of candesartan cilexetil combined with amlodipine besylate on senile hypertension.Methods:Forty-eight inpatients with senile hypertension during 2010 were selected to receive candesartan cilexetil,4 mg,qd,combined with amlodipine besylate,5 mg,qd for 10-14 days,and the changes on blood pressure and untoward effect were observed.Results:The systole blood pressure decreased from(163±17) mmHg to(133±14) mmHg(P0.05),and dystole blood pressure decreased from(90±24) mmHg to(70±10) mmHg(P0.05) after treatment of 10-14 days.Thirty cases(62.50%) were excellent effect,and 15 cases(31.25%) were effective,3 cases(6.25%) were ineffective and total effective rate was 93.75%.Conclusion:The treatment of candesartan cilexetil combined with amlodipine besylate is effective and safe for the patients with senile hypertension.
