Title: Research on items and reference value range by CT three-dimensional measurement on permanent normal occlusion of Harbin area
Abstract: Objective To establish the diagnosis items and normal value range by CT three-dimensional measurement on permanent normal occlusion of Harbin adults, and to provide a fixed quantity foundation of diagnosis, treatment and design for orthodontics and orthodontical surgery. Methods 58 Harbin adults(male:29 and female:29) aged from 17 to 25 with normal occlusion were chosen. The craniomaxillofacial hard tissue was scanned by means of the Spiral CT.Then the 3D images of craniomaxillofacial bones were reconstructed on AW4.2 workstation.16 items of lengths and 9 items of angles were measured on the screen. Results The sexual dimorphism was found in Harbin adults, and the differences displayed in the size of bones, but their shapes and proportions were nearly the same. The proportions of N-ANS∶ANS-Me∶N-Me and SN∶Ba-S∶N-Ba were about 0.46∶0.56∶1 and 0.57∶0.52∶1.There was no difference when measurements of both sides of mandible were compared. The asymmetrical proportions were no more than 2.5%(2.4°or 2.3 mm) on average. Conclusion A diagnosis task list was set up and reference value of permanent normal occlusion was studied. The length items were highly connected with sexual discrepancy, but angles almost weren't.A new ideal aesthetical triangle was found in GoL-S-GoR.Three-dimensional measurment by CT was more significant to the asymmetrical deformity.
