Title: Synthesis and properties of corn starch graft to acrylic acid/acrylamide
Abstract: By means of aqueous polymerization,the superabsorbent resin had been synthesized with corn starch,acrylic acid(AAC) and acrylamide(AAM) as raw materials, and using (NH4)2S2O8 as an initiator. The optimum conditions are paste temperature 80~85 ℃,paste time 15~30 minutes,initiator/starch mass ratio 0.4%~0.6%, monomer/starch mass ratio 4~6,AAC/AAM mass ratio 2.0~2.5, reaction temperature 50~55 ℃, reaction time 2~3 h.As a result, the absorptive capacity of the superabsorbent resin is 400~700 g·g-1 for water and 100~150 g·g-1 for 0.9% NaCl solution,this shows that the saltresistance property of the resin was improved obviously.
