Title: Tribological Properties of UHMWPE/GECNP Composite
Abstract: Graphite encapsulated copper nano-particles(GECNP)are filled in UHMWPE.The fractural face of composites with SEM is observed,and the friction and wear properties of three composite materials are researched by XP pin-on-disc friction and wear test machine.For contrast,copper and GNS are used to do experimental additive.The results indicate that GECNPs are distributed uniformly in UHMWPE;when the speed is 0.25m·s-1and the quality content of GECNP is within 3%,the wear rate of UHMWPE/GECNP composite materials is reduced compared with the UHMWPE,and the friction coefficients are unchanged.The comprehensive performance is better than UHMWPE/Copper and UHMWPE/GNS.When the quality content of GECNP is 1%,the wear rate is minimum,that is the wear rate of UHMWPE/GECNP composite materials is reduced 53.9% compared with the UHMWPE,and the friction coefficient is slightly lower.
