Title: Excision of apocrine glands for the treatment of osmidrosis
Abstract: s: Objective Many methods for treating osmidrosis always have their shortcoming or complications ,such as skin necrosis or scar contracture etc.This article aims to find a safe and effective method by excision of apocrine glands. Methods 21patients with osmidrosis had been treated by excision of apocrine glands.The incisions were small and parallel to the wrinkles of axillary skin.The apocrine glands embed in the surface of the subcutaneous tissue.And we cut them off one by one during the operation,without damages to the subdermal vessel-plexi. Results Total 21 cases were followed up for 6~18 months.There were no cases with complications such as skin necrosis and scar contracture.The pathology histologic study proved that we cut off were apocrine glands. Conclussion Apocrine glands can be distinguished and removed during operation,this method of treating osmidrosis can reach a satisfied results.
