Title: Qing Royal Court's Policies to Ryukyu——View it from the Disposal of the Extorting Incident
Abstract: Since the friendly relationship between Ryukyu and China was set up in the fifth year of Emperor Hongwu's Reign during the Ming Dynasty(1372),there had been frequent contacts between the two countries in politics,economy,culture and so on.In the 21~(st) year of Emperor Qianlong's Reign,when the Chinese Royal Envoy arrived in Ryukyu to confer a title upon the new emperor ShangMu,the related military made a disturbance to extort silver from Ryukyu,which ended up with a severe punishment on the party from Qing Royal Court.This article intends to review the foreign policies of Qing Royal Court through this event.
