Title: The Effect of Weight Gain by using Forage Sorghum Silage to Feeding Beef Cattle
Abstract: In order to explore the possibility of Forage Sorghum( Sorghum bicolor(L.) Moench) for silage and to enrich the silage source, twenty- seven crossbred beef cattles of the same variety,born at the same birth and similar body weight,were randomly divided into 3 treatments. The feeding effects of the three groups including forage sorghum silage, corn stover silage and whole corn silage. R esults showed that: To campare with the second and the third group The weight was increased44.37% and 7.8% and the daily revenue of the first group was increased 93.49% and 29.64%. Therefore, forage sorghum could be valuable as an alternative forage crop for beef cattle fattening.It can replace the traditional silage such as corn stover silage and whole corn silage.
