Title: Treatment for Chronic Aplastic Anemia by Strengthening the Spleen,Invigorating the Kidney and Activating Blood Circulation Combined with Small Dose of Androgen
Abstract: Objective: To investigate the remedy with strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney and activating blood circulation combined with small dose of male hormone in the treatment of chronic aplastic anemia.Methods: 91 patients of chronic aplastic anemia(CAA) were divided into treatment group with 61 cases and control group with 30 cases.According to the syndrome differentiation,the patients in the treatment group were subdivided into Yang deficiency of spleen and kidney(31 cases) and yin deficiency of the spleen and kidney(30 cases).Patients with Yang deficiency took Shengxue mixture No.1;Patients with Yin deficiency took Shengxue mixture No.2.The control group was treated with compound Zaofan Pill.All patients were treated additionally with small dose of androgen.The patients were received more than two courses of treatment,each for three months,in the mean time,symptomatic and supportive treatment was given if necessary.The efficacy of the remedy was evaluated.Results: The curative effect on TCM syndrome was better in the treatment group than that in the control group(P 0.05).Both in the treatment group and control group,CAA patients depending on red cell suspension infusion reduced the volume of red cell suspension infusion per month after treatment.However,the rate of CAA patients depending on red cell suspension infusion was reduced more in the treatment group than that in the control group.CAA patients depending on platelet suspension infusion reduced more volume of platelet suspension infusion in the treatment than that that in the control group(P 0.05).The rate of complication with infection was lower in the treatment group than in the control group(P 0.05).Conclusion: The remedy with strengthening the spleen,tonifying the kidney and activating blood circulation combined with small dose of male hormone has a beneficial efficacy on the treatment of chronic aplastic anemia.
