Title: Analysis of multidrug resistance genes in leukemia by gene expression microarray
Abstract: Objective: To evaluate the role of gene expression microarray analysis in the study on multidrug resistance in leukemia. Methods: MDR1 gene in 72 patients with leukemia was detected by fluorescence-quantitative RT-PCR technique, and an analysis of MDR gene expression in 3 cases with clinical multidrug resistance and 3 cases with non-clinical multidrug resistance were done by cDNA microarray which represented a set of 4096 human gene. Results: Comparing multidrug resistance group with non-clinical multidrug resistance group, 150 differentially exressed genes were identified by cDNA microarray. Conclusion: cDNA microarray for analysis of gene expression is effective to study multidrug resistance in leukemia.
