Title: Economic Globalization and the Remaking of China'sBusiness Ethics in the 21~(st)Century
Abstract: Economic globalization also implies globalization in ethics.China's upcoming joining in the WTO,to some extent, indicates China's recognition of and commitment to the global ethic, which is characterized by contract ethics. However,Confucian ethics is based on some kind of virtue ethics inherent in China's traditional society. As a result,Confucian ethics is increasingly becoming insufficient in an age of economic globalization. In order to meet the ethical challenges caused by the WTO,it's urgent to remake China's business ethics, that is,to put contract ethics as the ethical foundation while assimilating some reasonable aspects of Confucian virtue ethics. In the course of the ethical remaking,China's business enterprises, governments and academia ought to take their responsibilities respectively.
