Title: The Impacts of Ethical Theories on Economic Development:From the Perspective of the Comparison of the Protestant ethic and Chinese Traditional Confucian ethics
Abstract: The Protestant Ethics and the traditional Confucian ethics separately have the positive and negative impacts on the economic development.This is caused by the differences between the two ethical theories.From the viewpoint of how they deal with the relationship between and benefits,even though they both took moral as the center,the Protestant Ethic skillfully deal with the relation between and benefits,so as to legalize the benefits and promote the economic development.While Chinese traditional Confucian had a parochial concept with ethics,so they impeded the economic development.From the viewpoint of how they understood self-control,self-control in the Protestant Ethic made the economic development into reality;while self-control in the traditional Confucian ethics further strengthened its role in hindering economic development.
