Title: Clinicopathology observation of solitary fibrous tumors of prostate
Abstract: Objective To investigate the clinical manifestation, pathological morphology, immunohistochemical features and differential diagnosis of the prostate solitary fibrous tumors(PSFT).Methods PSFT in 10 cases were collected to observe their clinical features and immunohistochemical phenotype. Results The age ranged from 46 to 85 years.Histologically, the tumors showed range of growth cellular and patterns, varied from predominantly fibrous lesions containing large collagenized areas to more cellular and less fibrous areas, with thick-walled branching vessels showing HPC-like growth pattern.Myxoid degeneration and fat-forming areas were noted immunohistochemically.Immunophenotype: all cases of the tumor cells showed diffusely and strongly positives for both Vimentin(10/10) and CD34(10/10),less frequently positive for CD99(9/10),Bcl-2(10/10).Conclusion SFT are mesenchymal spindle cell tumors which could be found in various sites of human body and need to be distinguished from spindle cell tumors according to the histological characteristics and immunohistochemical phenotype.
