Title: The Effects of Zhongfei Mixture on Angiogenesis in Tumor Tissue from the Mice Bearing Lewis Lung Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective: To observe the effects of Zhongfei Mixture(ZM) on angiogenesis in tumor tissues from the mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma. Methods: Fifty C57BL/6 mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma were divided into 5 groups:the saline control group, the low,mid and high-dose groups of ZM and Cyclophosphamide(CTX) group.Tumor tissues were isolated after 12 days followed by the expression detection of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),CD34 protein and the microvessel density(MVD) in tumor tissues by EnVision two-step immuno-histochemistry staining. Results: ZM could down-regulate the expression level of VEGF and CD34 in tumor tissues from the mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma. There was a significantly positive correlation between VEGF and MVD.Compared with saline control group, the effects of the mid and high-dose groups on the two proteins showed significantly different in statistics(P0.01).Conclusion:ZM could depress vascular growth in tumor tissues from the mice bearing Lewis lung carcinoma. The effects of the mid and high-dose groups were superlative.
