Title: Clinical Study of Retrograde Lacrimal Intubation on the Treatment of Chronic Dacryocystitis
Abstract: Objectives To observe the clinical effect of silica made retrograde lacrimal intubation on treatment of chronic dacrocystitis.Methods Thirty one patients(Thirty one eyes) with chronic dacryocystitis in this study were selected from eye department from January 2008 to June 2011.All patients received retrograde lacrimal catheter implementation with silica tube in outpatient department,and the lacrimal passages were washed after the operation,and the tube was removed after placing three to six months.The symptoms and syphilis of lacrimal passages of these patients were observed in the following 6 to 12 months after the operation.Results All operations on patients were conducted successfully,and no complications happened during the procedure.The recovery rate and effective rate of nasolacrimal duct obstruction were 81.3%and 93.8%respectively.Conclusions This treatment is an easy,safe,effective method on treating chronic dacryocystitis and nasolacrimal duct obstruction,so it is suitable for cilnical application.
