Title: Causes and treatment of dysuria after prostatectomy in benign prostatic hyperplasia patients
Abstract: Objective: To study the causes of postoperative dysuria in patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy(BPH). Methods: Fifteen patients complained of postoperative dysuria after operation for treatment of BPH. Clinical data were analyzed retrospectively. Results: In the 15 patients who complained of postoperative dysuria after prostatectomy for the treatment of BPH, 11 had bladder neck obstruction, 1 urethral meatus stricture, 1 residual gland, and 2 inflammatory prosterior urethral stricture. Conclusion: Bladder neck obstruction is the major cause of dysuria after prostatectomy for the treatment of BPH. Almost all the patients can be cured by dilation or transurethral resection.
