Abstract:Objective To analyze the changes in bone mineral density(BMD) and relevant bioch-emical markers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) complicated with osteoporosis(OP).Methods According to B...Objective To analyze the changes in bone mineral density(BMD) and relevant bioch-emical markers in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) complicated with osteoporosis(OP).Methods According to BMD values,93 patients were divided into OP group(n=59) and non-OP group(n=34).The age,body mass index(BMI),fasting blood glucose(FBG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),urinary microalbumin,serum calcium,serum phosphorus and alkali phosphatase(ALP)were compared between the two groups.The correlation was analyzed.Results There were significant differences in the age,BMI,BMD,serum calcium,serum phosphorus,ALP and urinary microalbumin between OP group and non-OP group(P0.05).The BMD was negatively correlated with the age,HbA1c,urinary microalbumin and ALP,but positively correlated with BMI in patients with T2DM.There was no correlation between BMD and FBG.Conclusion The risk factors for T2DM complicated with OP include old age,weight loss,high ALP levels and diabetic nephropathy.Read More
