Title: Determination of caffeic acid content in Lygodium japonicum by RP-HPLC
Abstract: OBJECTIVE To determine caffeic acid in Lygodium japonicum.METHODS An RP-HPLC was performed on a Kromasil 100-5 C18 column (150 mm×4.6 mm), with a mixture of methano1-water-acetic acid-triethylamine (11∶89∶1.5∶0.3) as mobile phase .The detective wavelength was set at 320 nm and the flow rate was 1.0 ml·min~-1.Column temperature was 35℃.RESULTS Caffeic acid could be separated from other components completely. The linear range of caffeic acid was 0.005-0.500 μg(r=0.9999) and the average recovery of caffeic acid was 97.7% with RSD of 1.7%.CONCLUSION This method is accurate, simple and can be used for the quality control of Lygodium japonicum.
