The patients at age of 18-50 were enrolled who presented influenza symptoms and elevated body temperature ( 38.0℃ or higher) within 48 hours. These patients were randomly divided either into Lianhuaqingwen capsule group (4 capsules once, three times a day for 3 days) or Lingyangganmao capsule group (2 capsules once, three times a day for 3 days). Results 264 patients with influenza were defined as effective analysis cases (197 cases in Lianhuaqingwen capsule group;67 cases in Lingyangganmao capsule group). The effective rate of 24h temperature effect test in treatment group was 71.6%,which was significantly higher than that (55.2%) in control group (P=0.014).The effective rate of TCM symptoms test in treatment group was 76.6%,which was 59.7% in control group, there was a significant difference between two groups (P=0.007).For safety analysis, there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reaction between two groups. Adverse reaction was not found in treatment group, and there was 1 case of adverse reaction in control group (diarrhea). Conclusion Lianhuaqingwen capsule is effective and quite safe in treating early influenza.Read More
