Title: Cultural Differences and Indiom Translation between English and Chinese
Abstract: There are a large number of idioms in both English and Chinese languages,and they are difficult to translate.This article compares the differences in comparison,customs,cultural backgrounds and historical allusions between English and Chinese languages,then comes up with the principle of idiom translation,that is,translate the connotative meaning of the idioms.In the end,this article suggests some ways of translation,such as literal translation,borrowing,free translation,using both literal and free translation.
