Title: Expression of VEGF-C mRNA and its clinical significance in cervical carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the expression of VEGF C mRNA and its relation with the clinicopathological features and angiogenesis in cervical carcinoma. Methods Expression of VEGF C mRNA was detected by RT PCR in 51 cervical carcinoma. And microvessel density(MVD) was detected by immunohistochemical stain with CD34 monoclonal antibody. Results Expression of VEGF C mRNA was shown in 68.63%(35/51)cervical carcinoma. The positive rate of VEGF C mRNA expression is 63.6% in patients with lymph node metastasis and 20% in patients without lymph node metastasis(P0.01).The positive rate of VEGF C mRNA expression in tumors with high MVD(62.5%,20/32) was significantly higher than those in tumor with low MVD(26.3%,5/19)(P0.05).Conclusion VEGF C mRNA exprission may be important for the lymphnode metastasis and angiogenesis of cervical carcinoma.
