Title: Study on the Foreign Trade of Chaozhou in the Early Period of Qing Dynasty
Abstract: In the early period of the Qing Dynasty,the main foreign trade partners of Chaozhou were Japan,Siam,Indonesia and Singapore.In the foreign trade with East Asia,Japan was the most important part before the Qianlong Period,and after this period Ryukyu became the most important one.Simutaneously,the important trade partners in Southeast Asia also changed at that time.The main exported commodities were sugar,porcelain,iron,books,paper,sculpture and building material,while the imported things were rice,spice,pepper,seafood,areca,timber and opium,etc.Overseas Chinese from Chaozhou played an important role in these trades.
