Title: Clinical Study of the Sentinel Lymph Node of the Patients with Thyroid Carcinoma
Abstract: Objective To investigate the detecting methods of the sentinel lymph nodes of the thyroid carcinoma and its predicted value in the cervical metastasis of the carcinoma. Methods In 30 patients with N 0 neck who suffered from thyroid cancer, all patients were papillary adnocacinoma. The patent blue were used to identify the sentinel lymph nodes. The frozen histopathology was done during the operation, and the routine histopathology was done as the golden standard to study the predicted value of the sentinel lymph node in the metastasis of the cervical lymph node. Results Of the 30 patients, 27 patients' sentinel lymph nodes were detected successfully. The success rate was 90%. There were mean of 4 lymph nodes per patients. 13 patients' sentinel lymph nodes were found to be positive. 2 patients were fales negitive. The predicted value of the senetinel lymph nodes to the cervical lymph nodes metastasis was 86.7 per cent. Conclusion There are important predicted value of the sentinel lymph nodes in the cervical metastasis of the patients suffered from thyroid carcinoma.
