Title: Synthesis and photochromism properties based on polymer containing azobenzene side-chain with optical activity
Abstract: In this experiment, the fluorine-containing organic polymer which used,2,2-Bis (3-amino-4- hydroxyypheny 1)hexafluoropropane (6FHP) and 3,3',4,4'-Bisphenyltetracarboxylic (BPDA) is synthesized. It is a first-step preparation of a preimided hydroxy-containing polyimide, followed by the covalent bonding of dispersed red 1 (DR1),onto the backbone of the polyimide via the Mitsunobu reaction. The side polyimide containing azobenzene group is synthesized. The chemical structure and thermal properties of polyimide are characterized using FTIR,UV-Vis Spectroscopy and DSC-TGA.The differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) exhibited Tg and the temperature Td of polymer are 298 and 398 C,respectively. The UV-induced trans/cis photoisomerization and the thermal reflex-isomerization behavior are investigated for the polymer in solution and in film. The results indicate that the polymer solution and polymer film can undergo photochromism after a given UV wavelength photoinduction.
