Title: Relationship between hTcf-4 gene expression and liver cancer metastasis.
Abstract: Objective To study the expression of hTcf-4 gene in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) and liver cancer cell lines. Methods Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction(RT-PCR)method was used to detect the expression of hTcf-4 mRNA in 32 HCC samples, the corresponding peripheral tissues and liver cancer cell lines. Results The expression rates of hTcf-4 mRNA in HCCs and the corresponding peripheral tissues were 90.6% and 71.9%, respectively. The expression level of hTcf-4 gene in HCCs was much higher than that in the peripheral tissues( P 0.001). And all cell lines detected had hTcf-4 gene expression. The expression level of hTcf-4 gene in liver cancer cell lines was much higher than that in normal liver cell line( P 0.001). Furthermore, the expression level in highly metastatic liver cancer cell line (MHCCC97) was higher than that in low metastatic liver cancer cell lines( P 0.05). Conclusion The over-expression of hTcf-4 gene maybe related to the development and invasion of liver cancer.
